學生簽證（Education Visa - ED）

Applicable for foreign students coming to Thailand to study language courses, international degree programs, or professional training. This visa allows you to legally stay long-term with extension options, but you are not permitted to work during the period. As long as the course meets government regulations and the school is properly accredited, it applies to both short-term and long-term studies.

  1. 📄 Required Documents for Application
    (Please check the specific requirements on the website of the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your region)

    • Passport
       Valid for at least 6 months with sufficient blank pages.

    • Visa Application Form
       Completed and signed Thai visa application form.

    • Photographs
       Passport-size photos (4×6 cm), taken within the last 6 months.

    • Letter of Acceptance / Invitation from the educational institution
       Issued by a Thai language school, university, or other accredited institution, stating:
       - Course details
       - Number of study hours (minimum 15 hours per week)
       - Duration of the program (ideally within 1 year)
       - School registration number or accreditation proof

    • Supporting Documents from the Educational Institution
       Such as business registration certificate, Ministry of Education approval, etc. (usually provided by the school).

    • Educational Background or Student Certificate (if available)
       Proof of previous studies or current student status.

    • Proof of Financial Means
       Bank statements from the past 3–6 months showing a balance of at least 20,000 THB (or equivalent in foreign currency). Some consulates may require a higher amount.

    • Proof of Accommodation
       Rental agreement, school dormitory booking, or hotel reservation.

    • Flight Booking Record
       It is recommended to attach travel details for entry into Thailand (a round-trip ticket may not be mandatory but helps strengthen the application).

📌 Important Notes for Applicants

  • Initial Visa Validity
     The first issuance is generally valid for 90 days (single entry). After arrival, it can be extended in Thailand through the school’s assistance, up to a maximum of one year.

  • School Must Be Legally Accredited
     The chosen educational institution must be recognized by the Thai government; otherwise, the visa application will not be approved.

  • Minimum Weekly Study Hours Required
     Language or short-term courses must have at least 15 hours of study per week to qualify.

  • Employment and Business Activities Prohibited
     The Education Visa is a type of Non-Immigrant Visa. Holders are not permitted to work or engage in income-generating activities in Thailand.

  • Visa Extension Requires School Support
     Students must attend classes regularly and obtain academic progress reports or registration documents required by the school for visa renewal.

  • Visa Becomes Invalid if Studies Cease
     If the course is interrupted, delayed, or if the student withdraws, the visa will be invalid and the applicant must either reapply or leave Thailand immediately.

  • Sufficient Financial Preparation
     Applicants staying long-term must prepare enough funds for tuition and living expenses, as financial proof may be required.
