Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR Visa)
The Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR Visa) is a program introduced by the Thai government to attract high-potential foreign talents, retirees, professionals, and wealthy investors. Successful applicants are granted a 10-year multiple-entry visa, along with privileges such as tax incentives, work permits, and fast-track immigration services. This visa is particularly suitable for foreigners seeking to establish a long-term foundation for both life and career in Thailand.
The LTR Visa is divided into five categories of applicants:
Wealthy Global Citizen
Wealthy Pensioner
Work-from-Thailand Professional
Highly Skilled Professional
Dependents (spouse and children)

Copy of Passport Data Page (valid for at least 6 months)
Recent Passport Photo (taken within the last 6 months)

Proof of Financial Means: e.g., tax returns, bank statements, investment documents, retirement income certificates, etc.
Employment Documents (if applicable): including employment contract, job title certification, company operation documents
Health Insurance Certificate (coverage not less than USD 50,000 or equivalent proof of funds)
Proof of Family Relationship (if applying with spouse/children)
Police Clearance Certificate (required for certain nationalities)
📌 Important Notes for Applicants
Applicants must first submit an online application via the BOI (Board of Investment) system and obtain an approval letter before collecting the visa at a Thai Embassy, Consulate, or Immigration Bureau.
Each category has different income/asset requirements. For example, retirees must have an annual pension of at least USD 80,000.
The LTR Visa application fee is 50,000 THB per person.
Applicants may include a legal spouse and up to 4 minor children in the application.
Successful applicants may receive a BOI Work Permit (if applicable) and enjoy tax incentives (personal income tax reduced to 17%).
Holders must report to the Immigration Bureau within 90 days after arrival, and conduct annual residence registration.
It is recommended to allow at least 30–45 working days for the overall process.
