Single-Entry Tourist Visa (Tourist Visa - TR)

This visa is suitable for foreigners planning a short-term stay in Thailand for tourism, visiting relatives, or cultural experiences. It is a single-entry visa that allows a maximum stay of 60 days and can be extended once.

  • Copy of passport information page
     – Passport must be valid for at least 6 months with at least one blank visa page.

  • Photographs
     – Recent color photos (taken within the last 6 months), white background, size according to consular requirements (e.g., 3.5 x 4.5 cm).

  • Proof of travel itinerary
     – Round-trip air ticket or confirmed outbound ticket booking.

  • Proof of accommodation
     – Hotel booking, or invitation letter with ID from Thai host/family.

  • Proof of financial means
     – Bank statements from the last 3 months (showing applicant’s name and sufficient balance, generally at least 20,000 THB or equivalent), or a guarantee letter.

  • Employment certificate / work reference (if applicable)
     – May be used to demonstrate intention to return and financial stability.

  • Visa application form
     – Completed and signed official visa application form (downloadable from consulate website).

  • 📌 Important Notes for Applicants

    • Visa is not equivalent to entry permission
       Even if a visa is granted, entry is still subject to Immigration Officer approval at the point of entry, and entry may be denied.

    • Visa validity
       A Tourist Visa is generally valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of issue, for a single entry. Once entered, the maximum stay permitted is 60 days.

    • Visa cannot be converted to another type
       Holders of this visa may not convert it into another visa category within Thailand.

    • Work and business activities are prohibited
       This visa is strictly for tourism and non-profit activities. Engaging in employment or business activities is illegal.

    • Proof of sufficient funds may be required
       Immigration may request proof of funds upon entry. Recommended: at least 20,000 THB for individuals and 40,000 THB for families (or equivalent in foreign currency).

    • Visa becomes void upon departure
       This is a Single-Entry Visa. Once you leave Thailand, the visa automatically becomes invalid even if unused days remain.

    • Visa fee is non-refundable
       Visa fees are non-refundable regardless of approval outcome or whether the visa is used.

    • Extension of stay
       Holders may apply for a 30-day extension at the Immigration Bureau (subject to additional fees), but the application must be made before the visa expires.
